If your child is starting Prep soon, or you’ve been thinking about how to introduce early reading at home, this program gives you a simple and structured place to begin.
Created by an Early Years Education Consultant, the Phonics Foundations™ Program focuses on the sounds that make reading possible — helping your child build confidence before formal schooling begins.
This self-paced program includes all four phases of the Phonics Foundations Program™, guiding children through the essential building blocks of early reading and writing. With clear, step-by-step instruction, parents are supported to teach sound–letter correspondence, blending, and early word reading in a way that is developmentally appropriate and easy to follow.
Children begin by learning to recognise letters and connect them to their corresponding sounds, before progressing to blending and reading simple words. As their skills develop, they are supported to read and represent VC and CVC words, building the foundation for independent literacy.
Children are introduced to correct letter formation through hands-on activities, allowing them to learn accurate formation patterns without the pressure of pencil control. Optional, guided activities are provided for children with adequate pencil grip and control and may be ready to begin formal handwriting.
This program is designed to be flexible, supportive, and realistic for families — allowing you to work at your child’s pace while ensuring skills are taught correctly from the start.
